Well I think Pete's finally getting the hang of dealing with me in the mornings...I'm not the most happy human when I first wake up, needless to say. But he's figuring me out little by little, so that's a good thing. He said he had a good laugh from reading a previous post about how I'm such a nympho and I wondered if I would be kept happy enough, yadda yadda yadda, considering I wouldn't have nooky with him in the mornings. Yeah, I'm quite the laugh riot don'tchaknow.
We were AMISH the past couple of days, our power went out due to high winds, I think that hurricane Ike must have somehow caused us to get some of that or something. We lit a bunch of candles, sat outside on the front porch watching the trees bend. We bought bags of ice at the grocery store and put all our refrigerator food into coolers. Other than that, life went on as usual. My mom used to tell us kids when we were younger that if the power goes out, that's just God's way of showing us what it's like to be Amish, so she made it fun and no big deal. We survived a day or two without t.v., the radio, anything electric and made it into a game.
Well, life in Pittsburgh is going along pretty well so far. I've just been busy painting...I love interior decorating ya know, so that's my thing. I've been going around, room by room, little by little, just unpacking boxes, hanging pictures, painting, replacing floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, etc.....it's therapeutic to paint, so I enjoy it. I'm working on the foyer now, it needed some TLC.
I miss the huge parking lot that I used to take my dog for walks around every day, it was so quiet and peaceful. Living in my basement apartment in DC was much quieter too. That is one thing about this neighborhood, it's NOISY...especially in the mornings, with kids yelling their fool heads off across the street, getting off buses, being dropped off by parents, ushered across the street by crossing guards, etc., and then the local city bus goes by at least every 10 minutes it seems, and those are noisy too. If I sleep in my own bed downstairs, it's in the back of the house and much quieter and darker. (I have dark brown curtains on my window that help keep it like a cave, which I enjoy). I think that's why I'm having a lesser amount of sleep here, due to all the noise.
Last weekend we attended the local dungeon, and other than getting my ankle pinched in a stocks, Pete and I had a very sexy fun time...in fact, we were the only ones there using the equipment, so we got to move from place to place using different stuff. All in all we had a very fun time there and happily, I was zonked for quite a long while afterwards. Happy Happy Joy Joy!
Pete took me to a Pirates baseball game on Saturday too, it was fun! We had some awesome onion rings and ate some dinner there, with ice cream for dessert....I was stuffed...but it was fun to watch the game and the crowd. I took pictures too, but haven't downloaded them yet from Pete's camera.
They played the St. Louis Cardinals and won...hehehehe...much to Peter's chagrin.....Peter lived in St. Louis for many years and is a huge Cardinals fan, so he was highly disappointed when the Pirates beat them, but I had a fun chuckle about it while talking to him on the phone the other day. I do keep in touch with Peter, just by an email here and there, or a phone call once or twice a week. He says he misses me, but he doesn't mention any kind of plan of getting together, so I believe the releasing of me is something he is sticking to, and that is a bittersweet thing but I accept it. I'm not going to lie and say I don't miss him because I do, but at the same time, I haven't felt like I thought I might feel, I haven't had any meltdowns, I haven't been yearning or craving or going through some kind of D/s withdrawal from him...but I do miss him.
Ah well, I'm adjusting to life in Pittsburgh little by little. I'm starting to job hunt too, so hopefully soon I'll be out and about learning my way around the streets and working. Until then, I have more interior decorating to do, so I'd better go for now and get busy. I will write again soon and add some photos next time too.
