NEW YORK (Reuters) - Martin Feldstein, who leads the group that is considered the arbiter of U.S. recessions, said on Monday that he personally believes the economy has been sliding into a recession since December or January.
"I think that December/January was the peak and that we have been sliding into recession ever since then," Feldstein, the president of the National Bureau of Economic Research, said on CNBC television.
Feldstein said he believes that the recession will linger. "I think it could go on longer" than the "last two recessions (which) lasted eight months peak to trough," he said, adding the current recession could last about twice as long.

I rest my case on my previous post. Another financial wizard. See what I mean?

I prayed last night. I don't do that very often. But I lay in my bed, my dog sleeping beside me, and I prayed. I said, to whomever was listening, "I'm buying sleeping pills tomorrow. After Peter leaves me on Wednesday, I will grind some up for my dog, because there is nobody worthy enough to inherit her, and I will write down everything that needs to be said, and take the rest of the pills myself. Then we'll fall asleep into oblivion. I am all done."
Today, a miracle occurred. I got 2 calls from 2 separate employment agencies about jobs. I start a new one on Thursday. I guess maybe God knew I wasn't fooling around. Maybe He wants me to stick around a bit. I still say it's only postponing the inevitable though. But ok, I won't buy them yet.
Thanks God, for hearing me. Cuz I really wasn't fooling around. I'm dead serious. And if this little adventure doesn't work out, I'll just proceed with the plan as originally stated. I've had more than enough of the chaos, stupidity and bullshit in this world. Stick a fork in me ya'll, cuz I am done.
