Pete and I have decided to move from the current house we have in PA and find something better that we love, to share together, so we came up with a wish list of things we hoped to find. Somehow, miraculously, we found the perfect house, after only looking at 2 others!! Three's a charm I guess.
We drove to see the place this morning and spent 2.5 hours with the current home owners---they were GREAT!! A couple of really nice gay guys, who recently adopted a daughter. They just moved to a new place and are now looking to either sell or rent their previous house, which is the one that Pete and I fell in love with today! In fact, they seem very interested in doing a "rent to own" kind of contract with us, which is AWESOME. So, everybody liked everybody, and the house is just amazingly cool!!
I had kinda expected ME to fall in love with it and then have Pete say "no," but HE fell in love with it just as much as I did!! So now we have 7 weeks to pack our stuff, get rid of stuff, and plan a move!! We haven't filled out the application yet, but the two guys seemed ready to move on and get busy with it too, so we're in "moving mode" right now!!
The neighborhood is awesome, it's on 1/3 acre, so there is space between houses, they introduced us to some of the neighbors who seem really nice also, and said there's a community pool nearby, AND---even better---a dog park!! YAYYYY!!! Now I can just go for a short walk to a dog park and let Sassy play every day!! She is going to go CRAZY over that!! Not to mention the fact that they get deer, and turkey and owls and squirrels all around their property...it's so QUIET there, and so PEACEFUL....it's like a slice of country living in the heart of the city, and the main highway is only right around a couple of blocks, so that"s great too!!
Everything about this place is awesome...I mean the kitchen has stainless steel appliances and gas stove, a guest room with it's own bathroom and HUGE shower stall that also has a seat built in, which is perfect for Pete's 87 year old mom when she visits. Then there are 2 smaller bedrooms upstairs along with a larger master bedroom and the CLOSET is to DIE FOR....two sides, with built-in cabinets in the center, AND a shoe rack built in too....I nearly drooled over that....there are hardwood floors all through the house, a full basement with washer & dryer AND workout room, with all sorts of weight lifting equipment that Pete actually yelled YAYYY with his arms way up high when he walked into it...that was funny!!
There's a studio area above the 2 car garage, and a garden area, a wrap around porch, an attic for more storage, a full dining room, a large living room with a gas fireplace, not to mention a shorter commute to work every day, AND it's on a bus line that takes us both directly downtown where we work too----this place just ROCKS all the way around!!
I mean, the more we looked through the place, the more it felt like HOME. We are going to look at it a second time with some questions and concerns that we didn't notice or forgot to look for this time, but hopefully by the end of January we'll be signing the new lease and making plans to get out of "ghetto-land." YAYYY!!!
So that's the latest news from the 'burgh. I was amazed to see Pete's eyes light up about the place even more than mine...I am so glad he loves it too. Now we just have to get busy and get there....
Love, Sassy Girl
